My carnival love story began in 2015 at Atlanta-Dekalb Carnival.  I have attended (Downtown) Atlanta Carnival and Atlanta Dekalb Carnival supporting different bands since. Unfortunately, due to multiple issues over the past two years, it is fair to assume that Atlanta Dekalb is dead to rights. Moving forward, we finally see one Carnival standing in Atlanta for Memorial Day weekend 2024.
Atlanta Carnival is set to take place on Saturday, May 24th, 2024. Here is everything you need to know to start planning your trip to the peach state.
Where to Stay
The parade will lead into the Carnival village located at Westside Park, so I recommend you stay in Atlanta Midtown or Downtown. Some recommended places to stay include:Â

Atlanta Carnival 2024 Events
The Atlanta carnival association has its own events that you should consider checking out. J’ouvert will be held on Friday, May 24th at 1080 Donald Lee Hollowell Pkwy NW, Atlanta, GA. You can purchase tickets to the event here.

On Saturday, May 25th, The parade leads into a carnival village at Westside Park (1080 Donald Lee Hollowell Pkwy NW) that has many food and merchandise vendors, along with a concert. You can purchase access to the carnival village here. Those participating in the road parade will likely have their entry into the village included.Â

Atlanta Carnival 2024 Parade Route
The parade for Atlanta Carnival 2024 is set for 11AM – 4PM. Bands are expected to start assembly at 9:30 AM, so keep those roadblocks in mind. The route is rumored to be significantly longer than previous years. The official parade route has not been posted yet, so be sure check back for updates.
Random Tidbits to Know
DUI less safe law in GA: If you blow under the legal limit, you can be charged with a DUI Less-safe. Taxi, Uber, or use a responsible DD.
